What the job actually is
Perimeter security at large sites means patrol vehicles circling fence lines, alarm responses that take minutes to reach, and cameras that see fixed slices of a long boundary.

What the cell looks like
A drone-in-a-box system: weatherproof dock, autonomous launch on schedule or alarm trigger, a flown route over the perimeter with thermal and visual sensors, and automated return and recharge. - Airspace or waiver posture at your location cannot support routine flights; determine this before budgeting, not after.
- No monitoring arrangement exists to act on what the drone sees.
- You expect the aircraft to intervene. It documents and directs response; that is the design.
What an engineer has to verify
- The regulatory basis for routine operations at your site, reviewed by qualified counsel before contracts.
- Weather envelope honesty: wind and precipitation limits against your climate.
- Alarm-to-airborne latency demonstrated on site.
- Whether federal-funds eligibility rules constrain which aircraft you may buy; the compliant list changes and must be checked at purchase time.
Safety is not on that list because it is not ours to determine. Cell design, guarding and the risk assessment belong to an independent certified integrator, every time.
