What the cell looks like

A collaborative arm with a force controlled sanding end effector, which is the important part: the tool has to maintain contact pressure as the surface varies, rather than following a rigid path. Around it you need dust extraction sized to the material and a plan for changing abrasives, since consumable management is a recurring operating cost rather than a one time capital item.

The justification is usually labor plus consistency plus an exposure argument. Include abrasive consumption in the operating math, because a robot sands at a steady aggressive rate and will go through consumables faster than a person who eases off.
