AMRs replace the walking, not the work. They pay off on scheduled runs between stable points, and struggle on chaotic floors.

What the cell looks like
Autonomous mobile robots with either cart tops or conveyor tops, plus fleet software and a charging plan. Unlike the other applications here, the deployment is a floor project rather than a station project: aisle widths, floor condition, wireless coverage, and traffic rules all become part of the job. Pickup and drop points need to be standardized, because a robot cannot improvise the way a person with a cart does.
What it costs and what it saves
Illustrative, and per robot on the equipment line. Fleet software and charging infrastructure are usually one-time costs across the fleet rather than per unit.
Count the hours actually spent walking material, across everyone who does it, and be honest about whether those hours convert into productive work or simply disappear. AMRs also carry a safety argument when they take material out of mixed forklift and pedestrian traffic, which is real but harder to put a number on.
Every figure on this page is a planning range, not a quote. We publish ranges because a fixed number before an engineer has walked your floor is a guess wearing a suit. A certified integrator produces the fixed-price quote, and that is the number that holds up.

Read this part first
We would rather talk you out of a bad purchase than into one. If any of these describe you, the honest answer is probably not yet.
- You have one short run a day. The capital will not close on that.
- Your floor is chaotic, with pickup and drop points that move depending on the day.
- The legs you want to automate are outdoors or dock to dock in weather.
- Your wireless coverage does not reach the full route and there is no appetite to fix it.
One extra diligence note specific to this category. Some mobile robot manufacturers require their distributors to provide first level support, service, and maintenance. Steel Collar is never the integrator of record, so any mobile robot project we introduce has to have that service obligation satisfied by a named partner on the integrator bench before anyone signs anything. Ask us who it would be for your project, and if we cannot name them, we will say so.
What an engineer has to verify
This is the checklist that keeps every number above a range. None of it can be settled from a website, and all of it gets settled before anyone quotes.
- Floor conditions, aisle widths, ramps, and door thresholds along the whole route.
- Wireless coverage across the entire path, surveyed rather than assumed.
- Traffic rules and how the fleet will interact with forklifts.
- Standardization of pickup and drop points.
- Charging locations and how they fit the duty cycle.
Safety determinations are not on this list because they are not ours to make. Cell design, guarding, and the risk assessment belong to an independent certified integrator, every time.
